The Smoking Tire heads out to Adams Motorsports Park with the gold standard of small cars: The Honda Fit. We analyze the name literally: How much will it fit...
Have a '10 manual, base model. I can get 40mpg putting it in neutral and coasting a bit. I have to really drive like an animal to get it to dip below 35 mpg. Adam.... you should have showcased the "magic seat" I fit a flat screen in the back with the rear seats in the "up" position. And a mountain bike .

I drive my 2012 fit sport from LA to Vegas once a month and only average 34mpg at best. It's because going against desert winds and a flat straight way. I guess if your going thru mountains there are more choices for downhill coasting which improves mpg dramatically.
I drive my 2010 base (AT) about 150 miles a day in mountainous country. I regularly get 33-37. Drove from SW Virginia to Michigan in the spring and got (my calculation, not the computer) 41.7 on my first tank going across the WV mountains. It's a *great* little car, almost like a mini-minivan. And it's fairly sporty, esp with some decent tires. I bought Yoko Avid Ascends and love 'em.
hey nice video I have a quick question I'm looking to get one of this one's like a 2010 honda fit do tha sport model comes w/ moonroof and navigation!? if it dose it would be great :] I need to stop driving my 06 subaru sti is getting me poor w/ this dam gas economy lol
It also had a new set of Michelin all weathers, seems like a good tire. I drove a Camry with cheap Chinese Starfire sf340's for the last year. They were new when I started driving it and they're pretty much dead now lol. Drove it like I stole it a bit, didn't watch the tire pressure enough, first car, it's my parent's. Lesson learned though for my own car.
I ended up buying a 5 speed 06 Civic Ex sedan for a couple grand more, the fit was great but the red paint was pretty far gone and there really aren't any other manual fits around. I really like the Civic though. Maybe not as sharp at cornering but I think the 1.8 makes up for it.
I drive an "07 Fit and it handles great. I do have upgraded tires, even though I liked the Dunlops the car came with; the Michelin all weather tires made a huge difference in cornering and especially in the rain. It is super versatile and a blast to drive. defineately a bargain if thats the type of all around car you are looking for.
I have an 08 sport manual bought used recently . My first tank returned 40.70 . I am very conscientious about smooth driving , don't tailgate , don't approach stop signs too fast . It always amazes me how fast people approach red lights and stop signs only to slam on their brakes and sit there .

ОтветитьУдалитьNavigation is option which cost about $1500 more, and there isn't an moonroof option for any Fit model
ОтветитьУдалитьDriving at 68 mph on the highway and you'll get 40+ MPG

ОтветитьУдалитьIn Europe it's called a 'jazz' which suits it more.
ОтветитьУдалитьAlso, I think the interior here is much better then the fiesta's.
In the ford I felt crammed.

ОтветитьУдалитьI like how my 2000 Focus ZTS has nearly 200k miles and has never had any major repairs in its life. Runs amazingly.

ОтветитьУдалитьtrue that, regular maintenance ftw.
ОтветитьУдалитьBoth cars will last at least 15 years.
ОтветитьУдалитьFor $3k less, I'd stick with my Versa 1.8s Hatch, even thought the Fit is a nice car.
ОтветитьУдалитьCan Keiichi "Drift King" Tsychiya to take the Fit to test drive? He's a Best Motoring host, from japan lol
ОтветитьУдалитьthe tuner fit lol
