Playing FPS on console does take skill. Not everyone has quick reaction or hand cordination llike some pro players out there. In this sense, it is like a sport.
The only time Call Of Duty would be considered a sport is if there was a team-based search and destroy tournament since thats the only gametype that takes strategy and teamwork. Even then the term "sport" would be used very loosely. I highly doubt we're going to see "Highest K/D Ratio this week" scrolling at the bottom of the screen on SportsCenter anytime soon.
imagine having a team of 6 or 7 special chosen people to represent your country (with bench of alternate players of course) pitted against other countries. it would be televised and the X games would be a perfect first route to make it a real sport. its doable. well at least it can be worth a shot.

I don't think we should relate e sports with sports like football or soccer. I think we should keep them in a separate classification. CoD is an Esport, DoTA is an Esport and LOL is an Esport.
